Research Analyst, China Retail Market

Job Description
Job Summary:
This position provides data-driven insights on China retail market by a close analysis on key retailers/eTailers (Metro, CP Lotus, C-Store, Alibaba, etc). It commands a deep understanding of the evolution of the retailers and channels in the fast moving China retail market, so as to deliver high-quality consulting projects to industry clients.

Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct research, analysis and develops insights based on data, information, and market visit to produce channel/retailer report independently
• Assist customized projects in areas of research, data collection and analysis and drawing conclusions and implications based upon certain topics. Project scope: Route to Market, Retail Landscape Study, New Product Launching, Due Diligence, etc
• Interview with clients and conduct cold calls based on business needs
• Store visits across China to understand local retail landscape in different regions and cities. Frequent market visits across retailers’ stores to collect the best practice of manufacturers and closely follow FMCG brands’ newest performance and presence in the market
• Deliver public presentation towards broad audience and clients if needed

Job Requirement
• Bachelor or above degree in business related majors
• Passion in consulting, curiosity and interests in retail, eCommerce & FMCG
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Proficiency in written and spoken English (English working environment)
